Commentary: As part of a series, this presentation makes some introductory remarks about gender based mentorship. There was not enough time in the conference to fully unpack this concept. That will have to wait for another opportunity. This presentation also contains concluding thoughts on the entire series. An EXPANDED version is linked below.

-because God gave us the church to help us in creating our gender ID and responsibility
-this is done with the help of other men
* manhood is a spiritual journey that is done with other men helping you through the transition from boyhood to manhood

-today, we studied what it means to be like God…to be like Christ

Conclusion (to the entire series)
-God’s Word for the man does not necessarily create good feelings
-you might even have felt throughout this day that it’s not fair
-my response is that you are right, it’s truly NOT fair
-this whole day is not fair
-but we need to be reminded that Christianity is not a fair religion
-there is nothing fair about it
-it’s about love, mercy, grace, sacrifice, humility, repentance
-there is nothing fair about what God has done for us
-there is nothing fair about what Christ does for the church
-and when men are called to be like Christ
-when we ask the question, what is a man?.....
-when we call out men to ACT like men….
-yeah, there is nothing fair about it
-to be manly is NOT to seek fairness
-NOR to see what we feel we deserve
-NOR be driven by a sense of entitlement
-that certain rights and privileges must come our just because we are a men
-NO, it’s not about what we are ENTITLTED
-it’s about what we are ENTRUSTED with…
-all for His glory and not ours
-what is a man?
-how does a man ACT like a man?
-answer: the man ACTS like a man when he ACTS like Christ
-who laid down everything that He was entitled to…laid down His majesty, emptied himself….and gave himself for us
