Operation
-I am going to respond to each one of the problems I mentioned in the diagnosis
The loss of gender identity
The loss of gender responsibility
The loss of gender based mentorship
-and for each one, I am going to give the corresponding opposite
-that is how diagnosis and operation works
Create gender identity
-responding to the loss of gender ID, we need to go back to creation and find it
-in Gen.1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
-so, maleness is something that God has created
-femaleness is something that God created
-let’s warm up to this idea of male and female
Male and female exist in relation to each other
-if the female did not exist, the male would not exist
-if the male did not exist, the female would not exist
-so, to the degree you understand your relationship to a female is the degree to which you understand your male gender
-let me put it this way, most people (male and female) think that maleness and femaleness is self-contained
-meaning, you don’t need the other species to be a man
-meaning….I am a man because I am a man….doing manly things
-like hunting, fishing, getting a tattoo and growing a mustache
-or a woman is a woman if she does girly things
-like watch chick flicks, sip lattes at coffee shops, and gossip with her girlfriends
-you see how our gender concept is self contained…not connected to the other gender
-God’s design is that maleness and femaleness is best expressed when they are in relationship to one another
-so a man is a man in his relationship to a woman and visa versa
-these 2 species are made for each other
-the man and the woman have responsibilities towards each
other and the degree to which they are faithful to their responsibilities brings out their gender identity
-in other words, the more a man treats a woman right, the more of a man he is
-so, gender is expressed in a relationship dynamic
-a dynamic where they help one another
-where they are good for one another
-the man and the woman come together and develop a symbiotic
relationship
-animals in symbiotic relationship
-African Buffalo and the Ox Pecker
-the Shark and the Remora Fish
-2 diff. organism sharing mutual benefits
-you need each other
-and having a relationship where you need one another
-where we bring different things to the relationship
-where you complete one another, that kind of
relationship dynamic, I call, complementation
-a complementary relationship
-they need one another to become complete
-unless, of course, you have the gift of staying single
-so, a complementary relationship of blessing one another
-how do you do that?
-well, you have to take on your gender responsibility
-and God does not leave us in the dark but gives us a clear picture of gender responsibility, so….
