Title: Forget Not All His Benefits
Main Scripture: Psalm 103:2
Main Topics: worship, remembering, God's grace

As you listen, select, copy, and paste the following outline:

-our focus will be verse 2:

Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits

This is a command…to remember

-we can call it a self-command

-why?

-and as the leader, his job was to represent the people

-he starts with his own heart

Rippling effect

TRACK the SWITCHING of persons

-One worshipper!

-that, private worship is good, but corporate worship is great!

-a foretaste of eternal worship

* look back and see how God has blessed us

 “benefits”
-verse 2:  forget not all His….benefits
-in the original Hebrew, the word “benefits” means:  payback

grace

Deut. 6:10-12
When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you – a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant – then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do…not…forget… the Lord, who brought you out of the land of slavery.

          -reading this, it’s pretty clear…..forgetting would be…. A SIN !

-often times, we think of forgetting as purely a mental process

-but when the Bible says “forget not” …..it is a NOT a slippage of the mind; it is a slippage of the heart

-so, it’s clear, forgetting here in v.2 is not a mental problem; it is a spiritual problem
