Men's Events
are a time for the men to get away and act like men. Now that does not mean hiking, fishing, and getting tattoos! But it means getting away and refocusing on God's basic call for men to act like men. Such events are a confirmation that some messages in the Bible are just for men...and their boys!

A Manly Event: Christianity has been called a "manly" religion. The proposal is that it is a faith that calls for hardwork and sacrifice. It is a message of picking up the cross daily and following Jesus which is a life of suffering and self-denial. Such a message does not exclude the women, but it is particularly strong in its call to the men. The man who understands this does not cry for fairness or complain that his load is heavier. Instead, he accepts his role of being a spiritual leader and determines to be faithful to it. In this sense, God's call to act like a man is not for the faint-hearted. Now, one big surprise awaits the men that climb the mountain to a men's retreat: we will talk about women! What's that all about?!

Creating a Men's Ministry
An ongoing ministry just for men is very biblical. Even though the church may be filled with many programs, men's only ministry can accomplish two very important goals:
1. Provide gender specific teaching: God's design for the man
2. Provide mentoring opportunities between the older men and the younger men: Titus 2Diagnosing the current situation at church to determine feasibility and then formulating a practical strategy is the key. Once a strategy is in place, a special event is often a good way to launch a new ministry.
